Account Services Summer InternView the full posting

Do you think you have what it takes to be the next AKHIA Account Services intern? If developing and checking off to-do lists are a favorite pastime and writing, the ability to multitask and keeping teams organized are in your wheelhouse, AKHIA wants you.

Many of our past interns have turned into some of our most valued employees as our team and need for talent continue to grow. We run fast, but don’t miss a step, and like to have fun in the process. Would you like to join our A-team?

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
• Assisting with internal and client-facing projects
• Observance of and participation in internal meetings and client calls
• Exposure and interaction with all AKHIA departments
• Coordinating press kit development and other marketing projects
• Assist in compiling marketing and media relations reports
• Building and maintaining media lists
• Drafting copy for pitches while securing print and online coverage for clients through media outreach
• Administrative tasks such as preparation in client meetings, back-up for reception desk, taking notes, etc.
• Assisting the team with the brief writing process

Requirements:
• In the process of getting a degree in the communications, marketing or public relations field
• Previous PR or marketing internship experience is a plus
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment
• Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Physical Demands:
• Consistently requires sitting for a majority of the day to complete essential job duties on the computer and telephone
• Consistently requires auditory abilities to efficiently listen and effectively communicate with clients, vendors and staff to carry out essential job duties
• Occasionally requires standing to scan, print and copy job related documents to carry out job duties

Assistant Account ExecutiveView the full posting

AKHIA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to support the agency’s growing client roster. This entry level position will play an instrumental role in supporting our account teams to service and grow accounts and will have a strong ability to understand and absorb new information quickly. Our culture of learning is perfect for people who want to play a direct role in building a great company and developing industry-leading brands.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain comprehensive weekly status reports, lead and participate in status meetings, client meetings and client calls, when applicable
• Execute tactical aspects of strategic marketing communications programs and campaigns, including eBlast distribution, social media posts and managing ad production schedules
• Execute media relations efforts, including programming news releases, maintaining media lists, identifying editorial opportunities, drafting and sending pitches, maintaining media relationships, tracking and reporting monthly media measurement metrics
• Provide client service administrative support; draft meeting agendas, attend meetings and compile action items, schedule meetings and manage logistics
• Support creative brief development ensuring the larger agency teams have all the necessary information and materials to meet project timelines and budgets
• Coordinate research activities and competitive information necessary to develop client programs
• Build understanding and knowledge of the clients’ business and their competitors
• Actively participate in professional development, training, meetings and agency meetings
• Adhere to the AKHIA core values in all business interactions, and conduct self in a manner that reflects the agency’s vision and values at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• 1 to 2 years’ of post-college work experience in a public relations or marketing environment, strong internship experience will also be considered
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or related fields
• Highly organized & detailed, with ability to manage numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Resourceful and solutions focused
• Proactive and a self-starter
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, internally and externally

Freelance Art DirectorView the full posting

AKHIA is currently looking for an experienced Freelance Art Director to work on site with our creative team to help deliver creative and strategic solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Occasionally concept creative and strategic solutions (in groups, pairs and alone) that are on brand
• Work quickly to provide near real-time solutions and ideas
• Layout and design a variety of pieces
• Communicate with print, digital and video vendors if needed

Requirements:
• Strong design skills with a high level of understanding in composition, typography and production
• Strong leadership skills
• Must be able to complete multiple projects quickly and accurately
• Must be proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Immersed in current marketing and advertising trends
• Candidate must be able to be on site during office hours

Senior Media Relations SpecialistView the full posting

AKHIA is currently seeking a Senior Media Relations Specialist to join their team. The individual who fills this role will have a tremendous opportunity to lead and manage national and trade media relations efforts, in addition to other assigned projects, for consumer and B2B brands.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage national and trade media relations efforts for consumer and B2B brands
• Develop creative media pitches and story angles to generate editorial coverage that is on strategy and in line with clients’ business and communications goals
• Develop, execute and maintain strategic marketing communications plans, project work plans, schedules and budgets
• Identify internal and external resources needed and assign individual responsibilities to team
• Manage client budgets, monthly billings and recaps
• Measure and report campaign and project successes
• Build understanding and knowledge of the clients’ business and their competitors
• Contribute to creative brief development while ensuring the brief is on brand and on message for campaign/creative development
• Meet with clients regularly to set and manage expectations

Requirements:
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in national consumer and/or B2B media relations, strategic planning and strong writing capabilities
• Degree in Journalism or Public Relations preferred, but not required
• Highly organized & detailed, with ability to manage numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates account management skills – proactive, driven, and forward-thinking
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, internally and externally

Shadow at AKHIAView the full posting

Do you want to write content that makes an impact, develop cohesive marketing plans, design creative concepts or measure analytics using social media? Maybe you can see yourself in a variety of these positions, but aren’t sure where your expertise lies. Now is your chance to spend a day at AKHIA learning about how we operate, our different departments and where you might fit within agency life.
Our shadow day experience allows students to receive a high-level overview of what it is like to work in an agency. Students will meet with a variety of employees within different departments and have the opportunity to ask questions and receive advice pertaining to their future career goals.

Requirements:
Please note that AKHIA offers a limited amount of shadow days per year. All students are welcome to apply for the opportunity, but those who apply must be working towards a marketing/communications related degree or currently taking a marketing-specific course.
