"...about men's underwear"Would you let your kids watch a bunch of men walking around in their underwear?
I was playing with my four-year old Sunday afternoon while watching some ESPNEWS when the commercial ran. Yes, yes--I know this commercial isn't new. And no, I'm not for censorship. But I am for knowing your audience. And what I've seen during sporting events/programs has convinced me that advertisers may not be looking at everyone in theirs.
Usually I'm pretty fast in hitting the channel button when a violent, bloody video game ad comes on. Or hitting the volume when local sportstalk show hosts get carried away with the colorful metaphors. But I have to believe that there are other dads out there who would appreciate the help in what our kids may accidentally see during an innocent sports highlight. (It's bad enough I have to mute half of these reports thanks to the recent activities of Ben Roethlisberger and Tiger Woods.)
So maybe try moving the Grand Theft Auto spot to post 8 p.m. -- or at least the group of saggy keesters walking around in tighty whiteys -- so I can play Barbies in peace.
