A Little Bit Can Go a Long WayYou never know where your next blog topic will come from. For example, the other day I looked down and saw a callout on my waterbottle label. DeerPark, the brand I was drinking, wanted me to know that they had decreased the size of their label and in doing so, 'saved almost 10 million lbs. of paper per year in the U.S. - that's about 30,000 trees.'
It's inspiring to know that something so small can produce such large results. A philosophy that we have tried to embrace here at AKHIA, specifically through our AKHIA challenge events we started this year.

Our first event was in February and consisted of several physical fitness challenges. Four companies - AKHIA, Great Lakes Integrated, OnPoint Promotions, FathomSEO - participated, raising nearly $1000 for area foodbanks.
Next on the agenda was our cornhole challenge, held yesterday. We were very excited to have 10 companies participating and again were able to donate more than $1000 worth of food items to local foodbanks.
It's hard to believe that a small meeting with FathomSEO's Dominic Litten and AKHIA's Amanda Vasil, Lindsay Rider and Candis Hecking resulted in more than $2000 worth of donations in less than a year by simply a bunch of people playing games.
As we set our sights on the fall event (poker anyone?) we hope that our small thing turns into a big thing, but even if it doesn't, we're glad just to be doing something in a year where anything is appreciated.
