...what makes wine taste bad?Still fuming over the Cavs mental lapse last night. Let me tell you, nothing makes a Christmas Ale taste more bitter. What about wine though? What makes wine taste bad? Does anything make it taste bad? Is that possible?
Well, according to my day by day wine calendar, these are the list of foods that make (most) wines taste downright awful (perish the thought):
- Artichoke hearts
- Blue cheese
- Capers
- Habanero or hot peppers
- Horesradish
- Pickled ginger
- Pungent vinegars
- Wasabi
I would add 'watching the Steelers' to this list. I guess this is what it feels like to be a Browns fan? Well, this times 10 years. Here are this week's power rankings:
1. Saints. Might just be a team of destiny.
2. Colts. Please let us see them v. the Saints in the Super Bowl. I want to see Manning v. Brees.
3. Chargers. Does anyone want to play these guys?
4. Bengals. I hate putting them here, but outside of a blip with the Raiders (who may not be that bad) they are taking care of business.
5. Vikings. May be fool’s gold. They have played four teams with winning records (at the time they played them) and are 2-2.
6. Eagles. Here we go again – every year with McNabb and Reid. Although this year they may have to do it without Westbrook who is dealing with concussions - the NFL's version of the word Voldermort.
7. Cardinals. With a healthy Warner they can beat anyone. Factor in upgrades at the running back positions over last year, a defense playing with intensity (and has some talent!) and Bouldin and Fitzgerald, when they’re on the big stage - may be the NFC's dark horse come January.
8. Broncos. Have to give them credit for keeping focused to be at 8-4.
9. Giants. Same as the Broncos – they bounced back and realize that it’s a 16 game season.
10. Patriots. No road wins. Inconsistent play. Beat by the top two teams. Sparatic play calling from Belicheck – not sure what’s going here. All I could do to drop them in favor of the Pack.
