Standing out by telling the truth
(Wait…is this a non-AI blog from you, Ben? Why yes, it is. The AI Round-up is off this week!)
Never fails. You get one appliance fixed. Another one dies.
I told my wife “we sacrificed the washing machine for the refrigerator”. She wasn’t amused. Thankfully, a repair person was able to come in less than 24 hours.
The problem ended up being nothing major. Crisis averted.
A quick visit, easy solve and low bill wasn’t the most surprising part about this visit. At the end, the repair person told me ‘if something else happens, always call this manufacturer first; they’ll almost always make it right at no cost to you’. He then paused, and said: ‘not that I want to take work from us, but this is what’s best for you.’
I know. I was shocked.
But should I have been? He’s in a service business. It is supposed to be about ‘what’s best for you’ (the customer).

A holiday miracle is coming up – the Fourth, on a Friday. Yes, it’s happening. Take that break and ask yourself the last time your agency partner said the same thing to you. Are they looking out for what’s best for you? A lot don’t. Because it means telling the truth. Are other agencies liars? No, that’s not what I’m saying. But they may not know what’s best. So instead of saying that, they say something else.
Now isn’t the time for guessing. Things move too fast. The stakes are too high. I’d say that’s at least worth the conversation with an agency that knows exactly what it does well, who it does that for and what it can deliver.
I hope you come back from the Fourth refreshed. And curious about what a conversation with us could reveal.
Enjoy your break.
